The Darling 2012 Chardonnay has been awarded a gold medal and “Wine of Show” at the recent New Zealand Organic Wine Awards.
Owners and winemakers Chris Darling and Bart Arnst say they are delighted with the award and hope plenty of people get to try the wine as a result. They describe the Darling 2012 Chardonnay as having a fine flinty aroma with great mouthfeel and subtle oak.
Bart Arnst, also one of New Zealand’s leading organic consultants says “the wine was made in the vineyard and was delivered to the winey in perfect condition”. Chris Darling commented that “the reason we use organically grown grapes is that they make a better wine”.
The Darling Wines were established seven years ago and have been producing award winning wines from their inception. The Darling brand has recently been the first wine company in New Zealand to have their "Brand" certified by the organic certifying body BioGro.
The Darling Wines also produces three different Sauvignon Blanc's; Original, Barrel and Moscato Inspired as well as Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. For further information on the wines and availability check out their website www.thedarlingwines.com
